The
Honorable Sue E. Eckert is a Senior Fellow at the Watson Institute for
International Studies at Brown
University. Prior to
this, she served as Assistant Secretary of Export Administration in the Clinton
Administration. Her current research focuses on terrorist financing and money
laundering, targeted sanctions, and critical infrastructure. At the Watson
Institute, she co-directs the projects on Terrorist Financing, Targeted
Sanctions, and Economic Security. Recent publications include: Countering the Financing of Terrorism
and Strengthening Targeted Sanctions
Through Fair and Clear Procedures. From 1993-1997, she served as Assistant
Secretary of Commerce responsible for dual-use export control and sanctions
policies. Previously, she served on the professional staff of the U.S. House of
Representative's Committee on Foreign Affairs, where she oversaw technology
transfer, international trade, and national security/non-proliferation issues.
