Professor Sir Lawrence Freedman - King's College London

Sir Lawrence Freedman

Professor Freedman is Vice-Principal and Professor of War Studies at King's College London. He is one of the world's most renowned experts on strategic affairs and contemporary security issues. He has written extensively on warfare, strategic and defence issues, including the prize-winning A Choice of Enemies: America Confronts the Middle East (2008), Superterrorism (2002) and Terrorism and International Order (1986). Before joining King's, Professor Freedman held research appointments at Oxford University, the International Institute for Strategic Studies and the Royal Institute of International Affairs. He was elected a Fellow of the British Academy in 1995.
